Roadmap for upcoming features in Q1/2025

As we step into 2025, CheckPal continues to evolve with innovative features and improvements designed to enhance your productivity journey. Our commitment to providing you with a seamless task management experience remains stronger than ever.

CheckPal is buzzing with exciting developments across multiple fronts.

Improvements to collaboration features

Collaboration is already available on CheckPal, and it works great. You can share a checklist with your friends, family members, or coworkers.

Both of you can edit the checklist at the same time. With collaboration enabled, it opens many new challenges that we are eager to tackle. For example: parallel editing between users, handling conflicts, and fast synchronization between users so you can always see the latest changes.

Conflicts are resolved automatically in the background. You may not notice, but even if your browser goes offline and comes back online later, your changes will still be committed to the server. This new implementation enables us to develop a mobile app in the near future.

Even though the conflict resolution mechanism is not yet perfect, if you try to reorder or delete items, others may not see the changes right away without a full page reload. This is what we are going to tackle in Q1/2025.

Also, the current implementation is not aiming for real-time collaboration yet, but rather a simple way to handle multiple changes from multiple users. We are looking to improve that in the near future, but it is not critical in our plan.

Mobile Application & Offline-First Experience

Yay! This is the most wanted feature of CheckPal right now based on our survey. With the Mobile Application, you can bring your checklist with you everywhere and work even without a network connection. Changes will be synced back to the server when you are back online.

By working on the collaboration feature, we already have solutions to work toward a Mobile Application.

We apologize to iOS users, but the Android version will likely be available first in Q1/2025. We want to ensure the app works flawlessly before moving to another platform.

The iOS app will be released shortly after the Android version, possibly in Q1/2025 or at the beginning of Q2/2025.

Checklist Repeater & Tracking

This is another feature that we have wanted to work on for a long time. This feature allows you to set up a checklist to be repeated at fixed periods of time (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) and helps you keep track of how often you have completed the entire checklist within the given timeframe.

With this coming in Q1/2025, this feature enables many more useful use cases for CheckPal such as: habit tracking, work statistics, chore tracking, reducing manual work to reset checklists, etc.

This feature will also be an extension point for the future Team version that we are working toward by the end of 2025.

We are planning to write more content for our CheckPal Blog about productivity hacks and tips for your daily life tasks. Together, we can tackle real-life problems using checklists and the CheckPal platform.

Conclusion

I'm thrilled to share our comprehensive roadmap with our dedicated users who have been instrumental in shaping CheckPal's journey. Your feedback, suggestions, and continuous support have been invaluable in guiding our development priorities.

Cheers!
